Regulatory Consultancy

Regulatory Consultancy

In the rapidly developing business world, many new business models and innovations emerge and it is not clear whether such innovations can be legally worked in Egypt. There may or may not be a legal framework and such framework may or may not be welcoming of such new ideas. At Thebes Consultancy, we offer research and advice to clients who wish to engage with the regulatory authorities in a dialogue to introduce new or amend existing legislations to allow for the introduction of new business models to the Egyptian law and economy. Our services include (a) undertaking the necessary legal research on Egyptian law, comparative jurisdictions and international best practices, (b) assisting the client in making its legal case for introducing or amending legislations, (c) engaging with the regulator and other stakeholders in a dialogue regarding the proposed legislation on behalf of and/or together with the client, (d) drafting the necessary legislations, and (e) undertaking awareness campaigns and trainings as needed. We also seek to participate in regulatory reform projects led by regional and international organizations and development agencies in Egypt and throughout the Arab world. Why Consultancy and Advocacy? Appropriate: Pursue the proper channels and participate in discussions with the relevant governmental authorities. Comparative: Comparing local regulations and reforms against best global practices.
